Little Wars 2010

OK, so it has been a while since my last post – perhaps more than just a little while…

Things are ‘ok’ here at HistoriFigs HQ – it is just that ‘real life’ has taken a much larger chunk of my time this year. I’ll work a little harder at keeping Table Top Talk up to date!

Rather than trying to catch up on all the past events, I’ll just skip forward to today and go forward from now rather than last month.

First up is the Little Wars convention in April (23rd through the 25th) at the Marriott’s Lincolnshire Resort in Lincolnshire, IL. We will be attending as a vendor, so please feel free to drop by for a visit. We will have a few contests and giveaways at Little Wars this year (more on those as we finalize a few last details), so you have an extra added incentive to visit! We will have a good supply of Resistant Roosters, Bloodaxe Miniatures, Blasted Planets on hand we will also have various Scruby and HistoriFigs products on hand. Should there be something specific you want to see (or purchase), please drop us a line, so we can be sure to bring along those special items.

For more Little Wars information be sure to visit the convention website: http://www.hmgsmidwest.com/main%20LW.html

I’m sure there is plenty more to cover, but I’ll wrap things up for now and see what I can do about that back log of figures to photograph…

Its Almost Mid-February!

Yikes!

January is gone and February is almost half gone and what have I to show for all this time gone by?

Well, sadly, not much.

We have our casting equipment problems under control and are catching up on a small backlog of casting. This is keeping Alison busy. I’m still mildy cursing my last shipment of mold rubber – it is just a little differernt and I’m combating flow issues. I think I’ve got most problems worked out, but there always seems to be one more procedure I need to tinker with…

I still have a small batch of new figures to post on the site – I hope to complete that work later this week and post pictures and figure listings early next week.

I’ve been a little slower than usual the last couple of months due to problems with my feet – not sure what’s up but hope that things continue to improve.

We are extending the ‘free‘ shipping for Resistant Roosters products. Free US Shipping for Resistant Roosters products through March 2010 (discounted shipping on same for our international customers).

Until next time…

A Slow Start to 2010

Well, here we are the second full week of January 2010 and we are already a bit behind on projects. Our extended period of cold weather has slowed us down a bit. In addition to the extra outside work we had a problem with our air compressor.

The compressor lives in an outside closet and with the longer period of cold weather the little bit of water in the supply lines froze. The net result being that we were unable to cast until I was able to sort things. Heating the closet wasn’t really an option (at least not in any way cost effective). So, I decided to move the compressor into the shop for the duration. Of course this was easier said than done. Between the tight fit in the closet and the snow and ice on the ground it took a little work to get things moved around. Well, to make a long story short, The compressor is now inside and the air supply lines have been reworked and the casting shop is now back in operation.

Come spring, I’ll insulate the closet and move the compressor back to its outside home.  We’ve been operating with this same configuration with much colder temperatures, so I expect the problem was due to the number of days with sub-zero and single digit highs. In any event the casting shop is back in operation and molds are again spinning.

Look for another update, covering new releases (Bloodaxe and Blasted Planets), later this week.

Bus, busy, busy!

The month of November flew by. Now December (and 2009) are almost history too!

Between work, snow and a flu bug I (we) have been so busy that site updates have fallen way behind schedule again…

Fear not. A new year is just around the corner as are some more new figures (Spanish Insurectos for the Moro Rebellion line are just waiting for molds) as well as the next round of Scruby 54mm remolds.

I hope to post once ore before the end of the year – work is slowing down, so I might just have a little more time to work on TTT and other website updates.

If you look at he specials page you will notice that we’ve extended the “free” shipping on Resistant Roosters product through the end of January. Look for some new specials at the end of the month.

Happy Holidays!
