April News (early for once)

Well, we’ve put this off as long as we can…

With the costs for metal and shipping on the rise, we have had to revisit our pricing structure; the result being a price increase for miniatures effective 1 April 2007 (New prices to be posted by 1 April).

Additionally, with the new US postage rate going into effect in May, we will be revisiting our shipping rates and policies, so look for updated shipping information in May.

The arrival of April brings us to the subject of ranges taking a holiday (going on hiatus). As a reminder, here is the list of figure ranges going on hiatus (effective 1 April 2007):

  • 15mm ACW (actually a Chris Munro creation – this range will be offered for sale/auction.)
  • 20mm WWII
  • 20mm ACW
  • 20mm Napoleonic
  • 25mm ACW
  • 25mm WWII
  • 25mm Medieval
  • 25mm Napoleonic
  • 1″ Thirty Years War

Portions of the 25mm Napoleonic range will re-appear in April. We have produced new molds for some of the nationalities and these will be re-listed by mid April.

Remolding for the 20mm Napoleonic range is under way. First up are Austrians. We expect to have the first releases ready in early May.

The 25mm ACW range will be replaced with a new range (new figures should appear by the end of the year).

We will open a pre-order program for the 1” Thirty Years War line. Details for the pre-order program have yet to be worked out, but it will likely be something along the lines of; once we have orders for X number of figures we will re-mold the range and begin producing the range again. At this point, I don’t suspect that the value of X will be more than 200 figures…

We have no timeline or specific plans for the other ranges on or going on hiatus, but in all cases should there be enough interest we will accelerate plans for new molds and brig the figures back into production.

Our production schedule is still in a bit of a mess. With Alison being away for most of the past 6 weeks I’ve been the sole operator. This means that I’ve been casting, packing, shipping, making molds and sculpting/updating figures single handedly. This will continue to be the case until the second week in April (Alison will be back before then, but I’m allowing a few days for her to get settled back into here normal routine).

I still have a few news items up my sleeve, but those can wait for a few more days, so be sure to check back for more HistoriFigs news, as well as a listing of April Specials…
