Scruby Fantasy Miniatures

Recent discussions have revolved around the almost forgotten Scruby fantasy miniatures. The short history behind these figures is:

Scruby’sFantasy figures were designed with the man-sized figures being 30mm scale. This was the scale recommended by Gary Gygax in the classic rules book Chainmail (published first by Guidon Games and later by TSR).

For those of you who have never seen the Scruby Fantasy miniatures we present some quick photos showing the figures as they are produced today (new molds using the original pattern figures)

French & Indian War Terrain Sets

This past Sunday was one of our resin casting days (something we do two or three times a year). When I was done I realized that I’ve not yet posted a listing of the various terrain items we produce. As a follow-up to my previous post and without further delay…

HistoriFigs Presents: French & Indian War Terrain Sets

Models are scaled for use with 10mm to 12mm figures (N-Gauge).
All Models are supplied unpainted (unless otherwise specified, see product description).

Cabins:

The design of our cabins has been based on several sources; ranging from photos of the small shack at Fort Necessity to the cabins built nearly a hundred years later at Fort Edmonton. They are crude structures by our own modern standards; with low doorways, thick rough walls, and little finish work.

NT – 05 Cabin Set includes 5 long wall sections, 5 small wall sections, 2 long roof sections, and one short roof section. The roofs can be removed or glued on as desired.

Priced at $8.00

The cabins pictured below have been created using two ‘sets’ to show the 3 sizes of building possible.

Rustic Cabins

Fort Necessity:

Several sources were consulted during the design of our Fort Necessity model; in an attempt to make the terrain as historically accurate as possible – the only liberties taken were with the grass roof (the actual Fort used leather hides stretched over the top) and the two firesteps (it seems more likely that they would have just fired through the gaps in the palisade).

The fort itself was a small shack with a 50 foot palisade surrounding it – as this set is sized for 10-12mm miniatures (N-Gauge) it just happens to fit on a standard music CD sized base.

NT – 08 Basic Fort Set includes 6 palisade wall sections, 2 firestep sections, 1 gate section, 1 gate, 5 small cabin wall sections, 1 small ‘sod’ roof.

Priced at $9.00

Washington had his men dig a small earthen wall – which when added creates our NT – 09 Deluxe Fort Set which adds an Earthen Wall Set consisting of 16 straight sections and 12 45 degree corner sections. Priced at $19.00

Little Wars 2010

OK, so it has been a while since my last post – perhaps more than just a little while…

Things are ‘ok’ here at HistoriFigs HQ – it is just that ‘real life’ has taken a much larger chunk of my time this year. I’ll work a little harder at keeping Table Top Talk up to date!

Rather than trying to catch up on all the past events, I’ll just skip forward to today and go forward from now rather than last month.

First up is the Little Wars convention in April (23rd through the 25th) at the Marriott’s Lincolnshire Resort in Lincolnshire, IL. We will be attending as a vendor, so please feel free to drop by for a visit. We will have a few contests and giveaways at Little Wars this year (more on those as we finalize a few last details), so you have an extra added incentive to visit! We will have a good supply of Resistant Roosters, Bloodaxe Miniatures, Blasted Planets on hand we will also have various Scruby and HistoriFigs products on hand. Should there be something specific you want to see (or purchase), please drop us a line, so we can be sure to bring along those special items.

For more Little Wars information be sure to visit the convention website: http://www.hmgsmidwest.com/main%20LW.html

I’m sure there is plenty more to cover, but I’ll wrap things up for now and see what I can do about that back log of figures to photograph…

Its Almost Mid-February!

Yikes!

January is gone and February is almost half gone and what have I to show for all this time gone by?

Well, sadly, not much.

We have our casting equipment problems under control and are catching up on a small backlog of casting. This is keeping Alison busy. I’m still mildy cursing my last shipment of mold rubber – it is just a little differernt and I’m combating flow issues. I think I’ve got most problems worked out, but there always seems to be one more procedure I need to tinker with…

I still have a small batch of new figures to post on the site – I hope to complete that work later this week and post pictures and figure listings early next week.

I’ve been a little slower than usual the last couple of months due to problems with my feet – not sure what’s up but hope that things continue to improve.

We are extending the ‘free‘ shipping for Resistant Roosters products. Free US Shipping for Resistant Roosters products through March 2010 (discounted shipping on same for our international customers).

Until next time…
